The World Ablaze with War
Peter Kopa, Prague, March 19, 2026
Preliminary Commentary
The spectacle and outrage of wars are deplorable, as they bring to light the worst and most foolish aspects of humanity. This is because the ultimate motives for this belligerence, on the part of the aggressors, are the vice of pride, which manifests itself in a thirst for absolute power over the entire world. However, Judeo-Christian ethics are inclining the powerful toward the pursuit of peace, so there is cause for hope: there will be no atomic bombs and Europe will not be razed to the ground, but it will suffer greatly.
It is a travesty that while humanity has achieved impressive advances in science and technology, when it comes to harmony among nations and peoples, we are still living in the Stone Age. It is evident that if leaders had possessed the virtues of justice and mutual respect—accepting their differences in power and wealth and avoiding so many wars—we would now be living at a much higher standard of well-being. Both world wars, and those that have followed to this day, have drained tens of trillions of euros, which were spent on killing one another. And alongside the thirst for power and glory, there has always been a dirty business for a select few. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LmD1fbH5URU
The Significance of the US-Israel Alliance
The video above clearly explains how Iran’s negative image has been crafted over the past thirty years. The main actors behind this disinformation are Israel and the US. It is difficult to comprehend the US’s blind obedience to the wishes of the Israeli government, assuming enormous risks and losses. It is an unexpected shock for Russia and China and is reshaping the game on the political chessboard, especially regarding the three “empires” vying with one another for hegemonic dominance.
Furthermore, this development is causing something few expected just a few years ago: a visible rift within the European far right. For years, Trumpism offered the European right a simple and effective narrative: the West as a civilizational bloc facing external enemies. Within many European right-wing parties, two deeply incompatible geopolitical visions now coexist.
On one hand, the Atlanticist current that views the United States and Israel as strategic allies and shares the idea of a West in permanent confrontation with its adversaries. On the other hand, a sovereigntist current that distrusts U.S. power and advocates for a more autonomous Europe, even one open to alliances with Russia. This is also the case in Italy, with the AfD party in Germany, and in Hungary, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic.

The wing most aligned with Trumpism views Israel as a bastion of the Western project. The more radical and nationalist sector, however, criticizes the United States’ role as a hegemonic power and advocates for a geopolitically independent Europe. The war against Iran has turned this internal dispute into an open conflict.
The situation has led to unexpected positions. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, leader of Brothers of Italy, has distanced herself from the war against Iran. After initially offering diplomatic support to Israel, she ultimately acknowledged that the attack on Iran violates international law and made it clear that Italy does not want to go to war.
Europe’s Risk Facing Russia and China
This development can be viewed with optimism because it is becoming increasingly unlikely that Russia would want to attack all of Europe, given that it is being bled dry in the war against Ukraine. NATO and Russian attacks on Poland are a very different matter. Russia is currently at war with NATO. At the same time, Russia is showing signs of internal crisis that could lead to Putin’s downfall and a political crisis unprecedented in its history.
China is scaling back its aid to Russia, perhaps because it does not want to strengthen its major competitor in the game of geopolitical dominance. At the same time, it is thus reserving its forces for a potential confrontation with the U.S. Lately, China has also been withdrawing its aid to Iran, likely because it would mean directly confronting the U.S. and because rising oil prices increase its profit margin on the resale of Russian crude, which it purchases at a low price set in long-term contracts.
Russia is attempting to divide Europeans in order to increase its influence in European politics and increasingly turn the continent into a zone under its influence. The moment may soon come when Russia tests NATO, provoking the invocation of Article 5 by an attacked European country. This is the clause requiring mandatory assistance from all members if one of them is attacked. Some countries, particularly Poland, have already experienced this with Russian attacks on their infrastructure.
Meanwhile, Europe remains under the yoke of irresponsible governments—Britain, Germany, and France—that are beating the drums of war against Russia. The governments of these countries give the impression of obeying a hidden power, thus revealing a certain parallel with the obedience the U.S. shows toward Israel. The greatest risk facing Europe is a drastic energy shortage caused by an Iranian blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. This Iranian intervention has already led to the detention of hundreds of oil tankers waiting to pass through this bottleneck. The U.S. is determined to break this blockade and will likely succeed.
