The lies that enslave us

The deception of false progress

If a person has not had parents who raised them in love and faith, they tend to fall into empty and deceptive values. Man thinks he is free, but deep down he is dominated by invisible chains.

On the surface, our civilization presents itself as the zenith of human progress: material abundance, individual rights, unlimited technology, etc. But beneath that seductive glamour lies, for many, a fundamental lie: the conviction that matter is the only horizon of existence, and that outside of it everything is superstition, weakness, or a waste of time.

This undermines the very foundation of human dignity. If we are nothing more than a complex biological combination, without a soul or a destiny beyond the clay of the earth, then justice, beauty, truth, and love become mere modes of emotional survival, without objective value. That is the underlying lie for so many: reducing life to the visible, and happiness to pleasure. From this error derive all the others: the idolatry of consumption, the morality of success, faith in technology as salvation, and the longing for money and comfort as absolute gods. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ROEqB4v9F8c&t=5266s

The denial of the soul: the root of modern slavery

When eternal life is denied, the notion of the person as a transcendent being is also denied. Man ceases to be an end in himself and becomes a productive and consuming instrument, a social algorithm. The market subculture needs functional and manipulable men, not free men:

This denial takes on friendly forms—advertising, entertainment, pragmatic education—but its essence is consistently nihilistic, throwing many into the abyss of inner emptiness, without love and without hope. We are taught that nothing has meaning beyond performance; that values are not truths, but preferences; that happiness is a chemical state to be achieved through effort or medication. In this paradigm, the spiritual is suspect: a useless remnant of an “ancient” and outdated humanity.

Institutionalized lies

While our digital civilization provides us with enormous utility and is good in itself, unfortunately it is partly used to spread lies. These are produced on a massive scale, with twisted intentions, seeking selfish advantage. Thus, every piece of media content and every narrative is shaped according to political or commercial interests, such as YouTube and other networks. Information has replaced wisdom, and opinion has replaced reflection.

The reality is that we live and breathe in a digital atmosphere. Only a solid faith can give us and maintain clear parameters for our existence, which allows so many to be immune to environmental influences, not losing sight of the true north, which is God, toward whom we are all headed, whether we like it or not.

Even social institutions—schools, media, governments—have fallen into the materialistic view: the only criterion for evaluating a country is its GDP, leaving aside its culture and positive achievements; truth is endorsed by majority vote or guilty silences; and beauty is confused with efficiency.

What was once an occasional lie has become the air we breathe: a system of false promises protected by the fear of transcendence, which acts as a fatal hallucination, against which Jordan Peterson warns us: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDDZIqPeHxc

The loss of human dignity

The denial of eternal life has concrete consequences: human beings lose their center of gravity. When life lacks a transcendent purpose, all values become relative. Human dignity ceases to be inherent to human nature and becomes a label that is granted or withdrawn according to criteria of convenience.

We see this in the dehumanization of work, in the trivialization of suffering, and in the logic of discarding: the elderly, the sick, the poor, or the weak become “costs,” and euthanasia appears as an acceptable solution. Similarly, abortion, contraception, and genetic manipulation are no longer perceived as moral dilemmas and are accepted as “options” within a normalized relativism.

Recovering the truth

Faced with this situation, resistance cannot be political or economic, but spiritual, and the only entity that can carry it out is the Church and the example of its members. It is a matter of recovering the truth of the human being, which requires recognizing his eternal destiny. It is not just a matter of believing in the “afterlife,” but of living from a consciousness of meaning: understanding that our good deeds set in motion a love that does not die and a justice that does not depend on consensus, but on an eternal law inscribed in the soul.

Accepting eternal life restores dignity to the present: every gesture takes on weight because it is oriented toward the eternal. Thus, the true revolution begins in the heart. It does not consist in accumulating, but in giving; not in dominating, but in serving; not in denying fragility, but in transforming it into a path. Only when the lie that denies eternal life is unmasked can man become a person again: a free creature, with conscience and destiny.

Freedom in truth

Human experience thirsts for true meaning, beauty, and transcendence. To deny this is to deny what makes us human. In a world that venerates appearances, believing in the spiritual is more subversive, which manifests itself, for example, in the persecution of Christians and the dogmatization of lies. Evil necessarily hates the highest good. The resurgence of faith in the US, Europe, and Australia shows that man cannot endure false prophets in the long run.
