Marco Rubio’s speech at the Munich Security Conference (video above from February 14, 2026) focused on redefining the Western alliance, strengthening ties with Europe, while setting clear conditions and strongly criticizing recent European policies.

This speech is of transcendental importance because, without saying so explicitly, it is diametrically opposed to the dystopian new world order that the Davos 2030 Agenda seeks to establish. In this sense, we welcome what M. Rubio said because it expresses well the spirit of what we have been publishing in this medium since 2017. The entire speech has an underlying leitmotif, which is the conviction that it is necessary to defend and promote our Judeo-Christian culture, whose values, principles, and teachings have given greatness to the West as indispensable conditions for the state. https://thinktanklatam.org/la-actual-amenaza-de-los-globalistas/

Below is a summary of the most important points.

Spirit and direction of the Western Alliance

The US and Europe are deeply intertwined and need each other, so they must go together when it comes to security, sharing the same civilization. Rubio rejects the idea of a “controlled decline” of the West and warned that the US does not want to be the “watchman at Europe’s funeral,” demanding that Europe once again become the great protagonist in history, regaining its role as a strong and capable actor in all areas.

Sovereign national borders and migration

Rubio advocated regaining control over national borders, which implies control over who enters a country, as a basic requirement of sovereignty. And this has nothing to do with xenophobia or hatred. He pointed out that uncontrolled migration represents a threat to the “social fabric” and, in more radical terms, to the future of Western civilization itself and to the very internal stability of democracies.

Military defense and alliances

She stressed that she does not want “weak allies,” because the weakness of one weakens all; she insisted that Europe must increase its capacity for self-defense so that no adversary is tempted to test Europe or its alliance with the US. He proclaimed the need for the alliance to be capable of defending its population, protecting its interests, and preserving its freedom of action, without depending on third parties in critical areas such as energy, technology, and defense.

The threat of bad globalization and multilateralism

Rubió criticized the model of globalism that emerged at the end of the Cold War, accusing it of leading to deindustrialization, a decline in sovereignty, and economic dependence on rival powers.

He attacked certain multilateral institutions, particularly the UN, asserting that it has played almost no real role in resolving major conflicts, and stressed that the US prefers to rely more on sovereignty and bilateral alliances than on so many ineffective organizations.

Civilization, identity, and “civilizational suicide”

He strongly emphasized the importance of a strong Western identity, speaking of a “Christian and civilizational heritage” shared between the US and Europe, which must be defended and not constantly questioned.

He referred to the risk of “civilizational suicide” for Europe, manifested in open borders, excessive bureaucracy and regulations, climate dogmatism, and loss of Christian faith, inviting Europe to regain confidence in itself and its own legacy.

The war between Russia and Ukraine

On the security front, he insisted that Russia must cease its actions in Ukraine and affirmed that the US will continue to maintain its sanctions and military support for Europe and Ukraine. He pointed out that the post-1991 world order is over and that the alliance must rearm itself ideologically and militarily in the face of rivals such as Russia and China, without losing its freedom to act.

In short, Rubio combined a reassuring tone toward Europe (“we and you together”) with a message of conditioning and criticism: solidarity, but only possible if Europe strengthens its defense, controls its borders, regains its economic sovereignty, and reaffirms its cultural identity within the framework of Western civilization with which the US identifies.
