El Prof. Rodney Stark es una de las principales autoridades en sociología de la religión. Tras un período de servicio en el ejército estadounidense, Stark se doctoró en la Universidad de California, Berkeley, donde trabajó como sociólogo investigador en el ´Survey Research Center´ y en el ´Center for the Study of Law and Society´. Durante muchos años, el candidato al premio Pulitzer fue profesor de sociología y profesor de religión comparada en la Universidad de Washington.  Siendo agnóstico, Stark es autor de más de 150 artículos académicos y 32 libros en 17 idiomas diferentes sobre la difusión del cristianismo en los primeros siglos.

El Prof. Stark piensa que la difusión de la fe cristiana no se debió tanto a milagros ni a acontecimientos espectaculares, sino sobre todo a los numerosos hijos en las familias cristianas. Así, la conversión del Imperio Romano se produjo gracias al poder demográfico de la familia cristiana. Evidentemente, esto se ha logrado como fruto de la predicación heroica de la fe y de sus exigencias morales. Stark afirma que los primeros cristianos – en contra del prejuicio de que la fe se había extendido entre los pobres- eran gente educada. Muchos de ellos fueron gentiles griegos, que precisamente gracias a sus nociones filosóficas, estaban en mejores condiciones de acoger la doctrina de Cristo predicada por la Iglesia.

Las investigaciones de Stark indican que el relativamente pequeño punado de cristianos, a mediados del siglo I, creció demográficamente a tal punto, que a finales del siglo IV era más de la mitad de la población romana. Otro aspecto interesante es que esta difusión se produjo principalmente en las ciudades y que en este proceso había tenido un papel de primera importancia la mujer. Hay que tener en cuenta que en aquella Roma pagana, la posición de la mujer era muy baja, hasta ser considerada como una cosa, en virtud de la cultura misoginia entonces imperante. Fijémonos ahora en la inmigración musulmana en Europa. Cada vez está más extendida la convicción de que se trata de un arma demográfico con el cual los globalistas quieren destruir la cultura europea. No faltan autoridades religiosas musulmanas que insisten que ellos se ´comerán ‘esta parte del mundo a fuerza de su alta natalidad. Hoy es normal que, en una clase de cualquier escuela, la mitad de los niños no hablen alemán como su lengua materna, sino el árabe, el turco u otro idioma del oriente medio o del norte de África.  Es por tanto evidente que la integración musulmana en Europa es un gran problema, con el peligro constante de su radicalización, como está sucediendo ahora mismo en Suecia, donde tiene que acudir el ejército para ayudar a la policía a mantener un orden público mínimo.

A finales de 2022 había cuatro millones de musulmanes en el Reino Unido, seis millones en Alemania y en Francia. Esto sin contar con los otros grupos no musulmanes. Si en Europa se hubiesen dejado nacer todos los niños abortados o evitados de otra manera, tendríamos hoy unos cuarenta y cinco millones de europeos más y no hubiesen sido necesarios los inmigrantes como mano de obra que en parte exigía el mercado laboral.

El poder demográfico también explica el mestizaje en Hispanoamérica, donde los indígenas no fueron eliminados, a diferencia del norte de América. Aquí, el mecanismo demográfico funcionó en la proliferación de la raza blanca y negra. Esta última fue fomentada porque los africanos trabajaban como esclavos en los duros trabajos de labranza. Otro caso análogo lo podemos observar en la historia del pueblo de Israel, cómo se multiplicaron rápidamente durante su estancia en Egipto o a la vuelta del destierro en Babilonia.

Atípica caída demográfica

La mentalidad actual que tiende a limitar el número de hijos, cuando no a evitarlos absolutamente, es un fenómeno históricamente raro y que se puede explicar solamente considerando la penetración de ideas que ponen erróneamente en primer lugar otros valores por encima de los hijos, como es el bienestar material, el planteamiento ecológico etc. Se trata siempre de ideologías sin base alguna en la naturaleza del ser humano, ya que antropológicamente el hombre no puede realizarse totalmente ni ser feliz si no responde a su vocación maternal o paternal. Sólo los hijos aseguran la máxima felicidad, aunque cuesten sacrificios y renuncias.

Esta es una realidad que hasta hace sesenta años se daba por supuesta, como algo independiente y previo a todo credo religioso. En este sentido es interesante observar cómo en algunos sitios o culturas se manifiesta el deseo de los hijos. Tal es el caso de los inmigrantes vietnamitas en Chequia, la gente sencilla en Hispanoamérica y sobre todo en África, donde el crecimiento demográfico es explosivo. Signos de esperanza en el futuro

La atmósfera contraria a la natalidad, que está hundiendo a Europa, bien puede ser como una nube mala que puede pasar para que nuevamente alumbre el sol en cielos azules en el interior de la gente. En la historia del mundo, el hundimiento sucesivo de los imperios se ha debido siempre al bajón de nacimientos. El ejemplo paradigmático nos brinda, en este sentido, la larga decadencia del Imperio Romano. Y estamos viendo en tiempo real lo que está pasando, en este sentido, en USA, Europa, Japón y algunos países importantes más en Asia, e incluso en Hispanoamérica. Es verdad que las ideas mueven al mundo, pero para esto tiene que haber personas, instituciones e iniciativas que hagan suyos los ideales de una renovación cultural pro vida. No puede ser que los monumentos artísticos y las infraestructuras de la civilización occidental cristiana caigan en la nada, o en otras manos.

Prof. Rodney Stark is one of the leading authorities on the sociology of religion. After a period of service in the US Army, Stark received his PhD from the University of California, Berkeley, where he worked as a research sociologist at the ‘Survey Research Center’ and the ‘Center for the Study of Law and Society’. Prof. Stark thinks that the spread of the Christian faith was not so much due to miracles or spectacular events, but mainly to the numerous children in Christian families. Thus, the conversion of the Roman Empire was brought about by the demographic power of the Christian family. Evidently, this was achieved as the fruit of the heroic preaching of the faith and its moral demands. Stark claims that the early Christians – contrary to the prejudice that the faith had spread among the poor – were educated people. Many of them were Greek Gentiles, who, precisely because of their philosophical notions, were in a better position to accept the doctrine of Christ preached by the Church.

Stark’s research indicates that the relatively small number of Christians in the middle of the first century grew demographically to such an extent that by the end of the fourth century it was more than half of the Roman population. Another interesting aspect is that this diffusion took place mainly in the cities and that in this process women played an important role. It must be taken into account that in that pagan Rome, the position of women was very low, to the point of being considered as a thing, by virtue of the misogynist culture then prevailing. Let us now turn our attention to Muslim immigration in Europe. There is a growing conviction that this is a demographic weapon with which the globalists want to destroy European culture. There is no lack of Muslim religious authorities who insist that they will ‘eat’ this part of the world by force of their high birth rate. Today it is normal that, in any school class, half of the children do not speak German as their mother tongue, but Arabic, Turkish or another Middle Eastern or North African language.  It is therefore clear that Muslim integration in Europe is a big problem, with the constant danger of their radicalization, as is happening right now in Sweden, where the army has to be called in to help the police maintain a minimum of law and order.

At the end of 2022 there were four million Muslims in the UK, six million in Germany and in France. This is not counting the other non-Muslim groups. If all aborted or otherwise prevented children had been allowed to be born in Europe, we would have some forty-five million more Europeans today and there would have been no need for the immigrants as a labor force that the labor market partly demanded.

Demographic power also explains the mestizaje in Spanish America, where the indigenous people were not eliminated, unlike in North America. Here, the demographic mechanism worked in the proliferation of the white and black race. The latter was encouraged because Africans worked as slaves in the hard labor of farming. Another analogous case can be observed in the history of the people of Israel, how they multiplied rapidly during their stay in Egypt or upon their return from exile in Babylon.

Atypical demographic decline

The current mentality that tends to limit the number of children, if not to avoid them altogether, is a historically rare phenomenon that can only be explained by considering the penetration of ideas that erroneously place other values above children, such as material well-being, ecological concerns, etc. These are always ideologies without any basis in the nature of the human being, since anthropologically man cannot be totally fulfilled and happy if he does not respond to his maternal or paternal vocation. Only children ensure maximum happiness, even at the cost of sacrifice and renunciation.

This is a reality that until sixty years ago was taken for granted, as something independent and prior to any religious creed. In this sense, it is interesting to observe how in some places or cultures the desire for children is manifested. Such is the case of Vietnamese immigrants in the Czech Republic, simple people in Latin America and especially in Africa, where population growth is explosive. Signs of hope for the future

The anti-birth atmosphere, which is sinking Europe, may well be like a bad cloud that can pass so that the sun can shine again in blue skies inside people. In the history of the world, the successive collapse of empires has always been due to the drop in births. The paradigmatic example in this regard is the long decline of the Roman Empire. And we are seeing in real time what is happening, in this sense, in the USA, Europe, Japan and some other important countries in Asia, and even in Latin America. It is true that ideas move the world, but for this there must be people, institutions and initiatives that make the ideals of a pro-life cultural renewal their own. It cannot be that the artistic monuments and infrastructures of Western Christian civilization fall into nothingness, or into other hands.
