The Communist cataclysm, not only in Russia

Already a century ago, in October 1917, the most world history, the establishment of Marxism-Leninism in Russia. Seen through the haze of distance in time, it emerges today as a cataclysm in world history, calling for a new and more deep understanding of what has happened. This necessarily leads to know better the ins and outs of the human soul, because that is where we really all the battles, all the defeats and all the victories, have been fought over the background of time and eternity, like the obverse and reverse of a Tapestry. Here we are not going to remember specific dates or events, which are well known, to place us on an anthropological-philosophical level, looking the deepest causes in the souls of those who led the great liquidation of over 100 million lives in the slaughterhouses of Russia, China, Laos, Cambodia and Cuba.

The European roots of the drama

Little is known that Marxism was inoculated to the Russian people since Europe, like a virulent disease, through Lenin, who during his stays in Europe had adopted Karl Marx’s ideology as its great combat weapon. A group of Jewish Masons in cooperation with representatives of the German Government, negotiated and financed their return to Russia from Switzerland, in a sealed wagon that passed several borders without being under any kind of control. Before that, there were attempts to provoke the revolution Marxist in England and Germany, but without success. In 1917 the German government had an interest in destabilizing Russia internally, with which he was in war. Both the French and Russian revolutions of 1917, and Nazism, they sought to force the creation of a new and different man, based on violent processes, under the pretext of being absolutely necessary to achieve that end. The ideological instruments that best served that purpose were Lenin’s revolutionary studies in amalgamation with Karl Marx and his work ‘Das Kapital’, written in German. For its part, Nazism was formulated in ‘Mein Kampf’ by Adolf Hitler.

Philosophical presuppositions of Marxism

In turn, Marxism and Nazism are rooted in idealism German rationalism initiated by the 19th century, which is nourished by the subjectivist Descartes, who on the basis of his methodical doubt first questioned in the history of Philosophy the reliability of the existence of the world and of the things they’re all around us. This method opened up a nefarious path, through which they entered many philosophers and thinkers like Locke, Hume, Berkeley, Kant, Fichte, Schelling and Hegel. The latter provides the basis for thinking to Engels and Feuerbach, which in turn are the starting point of Marxism. This team composed mainly of English, French and have achieved in philosophical reflection the Copernican twist consistent in the primacy of the thinking self over things, in the sense of being the thought the absolute first, from which, in a second moment, things are as the self sovereignly decides. And in this the harmful dynamics of God and the principles on which is based the Judeo-Christian Western world are no longer in place. It is therefore abandoned the normativity of extramental reality, which imposes its law on man, thus opening up for subjective rationalism an immense field of false materialistic freedom, from where God has been thrown out like an intruder.

This mistake of apocalyptic consequences was piercing the established order at the personal, social and state level, throughout the West, long before the establishment of Marxism in Russia, which is only one of its many consequences. The primacy of the self is now very much in the whole of the very prosperous Western world, with the materialistic tendency denying God and his Law, and therefore also denying even the being and the very truth of things. A small sample, today, is the redefinition of the truth, as something purely relative and dependent on circumstances. In this sense, a new tyranny is emerging that sanctions harshly many legitimate freedoms of man, such as the correct understanding of ethics, conscience, human rights, marriage, sex, etc.

Those of us who have the ‘privilege’ of living the last two generations in the Western world, we have seen the change of attitudes and behaviors in a direction that seeks to break down barriers. The family is no longer the reliable place where you were born and raised new human life etc. In reality, the choice of the primacy of the self over God and things is the strongest temptation in the life of every man, who in self-contemplation sees his high dignity, endowed with reason and free will, and can thus fall in love with himself. The same as at the time of the great  trial when Lucifer sunk into the murky depths of eternal hell. It’s as the fall into a second original sin, which leaves man without another hope that he can give himself, in a loneliness that leads to drinking pleasures even in the dirty pools on the way to a life, which is only borrowed for a very limited time. Goethe, the greatest German poet, dedicates his most beautiful stanzas to the poem ‘Prometheus’, which is an exaltation pride of man, as the sole protagonist of his achievements and merits.

The Phenomenology of Marxism

The drunkenness of freedom’s rampage is a sad feature of our culture – or rather subculture – of the West, which is related to the first-degree direct with communist Marxism, although its manifestations are different due to social and cultural conditioning. This issue cannot be addressed here as it deserves, so that suffice it to say that both manifestations of the primacy of self-carry equally to empty lives, to personal and institutional disasters in all levels, because as Dostoyevsky said, ‘if God does not exist, everything is allowed’: all sorts of crimes, sexual rampages, abortion and fetal trafficking, the evil intention, choice of one’s sex, bestiality, sodomy, the suicide, drugs etc. etc. And perhaps worst of all is the refusal to use own reason, which always loses out against the feelings, which lead right into havoc and disaster. In contrast, in the vast field of science and technology, the primacy of the “I” is ridiculous and absurd, because here the Natural Law imposes itself absolutely with all its force demanding unconditional follow-up. Otherwise appears the total failure of any attempt at scientific progress, which is based always in the truth of things. Some thinkers argue that this is called upon to redeem man, to lead him out of the materialistic trap into which he falls in the primacy of self.

The constant triumph of reason and common sense

The somewhat academic consideration of Marxism and its very bitter fruits should not, however, make us forget the tangible reality of the triumph of reason, goodness and truth in the day-to-day life of most the men. It is well known that evil always makes a lot of noise, scandalizes and it attracts a lot of attention, precisely because most people expect good from others – both from the official institutions of the State and of people -, the fulfilment of the duty of every moment, the natural behavior and the truth. In all countries, the Laws pursue crime, the fraud, theft and unjust violence. Throughout the course of history, the evil has initially been despotism tyranny of rulers, political-religious antagonisms, the desire to to subjugate other peoples. But the Copernican turn initiated by Descartes, who soon evolved from idealistic rationalism to the absolute primacy of the self, introduces into the political processes the dogma that is both naive and evil, that the state or a political party has the absolute right to impose the Marxism by force. We already see this principle at work in the French Revolution, coming always from a minority with a messianic complex, advocating always a violent revolutionary option.

Communism took its toll of some 150 million human lives worldwide and it is still present in various external forms in North Korea, China, Vietnam and Cuba.   Communism has left in the Western world the sad trail of a sickly critical attitude against everything that was once true, noble and holy. With the strong support of power vectors from the media, from the large financial centers of the European Union, it is intended to teach people to think, and then act like that power domes want it. While Marxism is largely overcome, as a political system, it survives somehow as a kind of nebula of indefinable, critical and atheistic thinking that harms the masses through the patterns of behavior proposed by the cinema, the media and fashion. This is a factual ideology that is difficult to counteract on a scientific level, because it has no logical system of thought, unlike Marxism openly manifesting his wrong assumptions.

The end of the Marxist crisis

What the bad subjectivist philosophy ignored is that man is a being spirituality that therefore aspires deeply to a happiness far beyond what can give the matter. And this is inscribed in its very nature, as also, his conviction that there is a God and His Law. This explains that in Marxism has always failed in reality, even in the beginning in Russia, because always it had to be imposed always by brute force. Nor do most people today like materialism, also imposed by their power centers in such a way that they end up brainwashing, over all in the richer countries, through the factuality of the patterns of behavior in movies, in art (music, literature), in fashion, in value and thinking (e.g. ‘political correctness’).   Those of us who suffer from this dissolving and denying dimension of the spirituality of man is the silent majority that cries out for its own leadership. In this sense, authorities of all kinds are appearing, from institutional or personal form, which condemn being vassals of materialism. This struggle will grow more and more and now has to face the challenge of impose their rights on the political level. Assuming this responsibility is absolutely necessary to purify the cultural atmosphere especially in the leading countries.
