It should be added that people who live in the countryside or in small towns also lead a more serene and natural life, even if they are very well off economically. Many people today idealize the old days when you could leave your car parked with the ignition keys tucked under the steering wheel. I remember how in Switzerland, many years ago, the police made a bell asking people not to leave their cars unlocked and with the key in the ignition, because at that time the first car thefts had appeared.

I recall that many years ago, a member of the British government had proposed to give mothers a monthly salary of 1500 Pounds, from the public purse. He explained that their work of caring for and educating their children would then avoid the enormous cost to the state of each person unable to work and in turn create a family that would at the same time ensure a positive demographic development.
