According to the Neue Z. Zeitung of Zuerich, a Wall Street Journal survey has gone viral in the USA because it says that Americans have quickly gone from being self-sacrificing patriots to people who are greedily interested in money. The reality is less dramatic, but the loss of traditional values is producing a fracture in the American nation, due to ignorance of God. This has been reported by Christian Weisflog, from Washington, a few days ago, under the long title “The alienation from God, children and patriotism is shaking the USA: it is worse than any pandemic”.
Although this Wall Street newspaper is part of the great globalist world media empire, it is surprising that it offers results that one would expect from conservatives, which increases its reliability. We offer a summary of the survey and, at the end, our comments:
How the USA disintegrates the ignorance about God.
In 1998, 70 percent of Americans thought “patriotism” was very important; in 2019, that figure dropped to 60 percent. Now, however, only 38 percent of citizens are of this opinion. The data show an analogous pattern from 2019- for the values “religion,” “having children,” or “community engagement.”
Younger generations want to know even less about traditional ideals than older Americans. Only 23% of those under 30 consider patriotism or having children to be very important.
Conservative majority sees their warnings confirmed.
In conservative circles in particular, the poll had a major impact. Many politicians saw their warnings of future social disintegration by leftist ideologies confirmed: “The self-hatred we see across the country is worse than any pandemic,” tweeted Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley. “America is the greatest nation in the world and we must continue to teach that to our children.”
The country is mired in an identity crisis, conservative businessman and presidential hopeful Vive Ramaswamy also wrote: “Faith, patriotism, family and hard work are gone. Wokeness, gender ideology and climate worship have taken their birth.” For his part, Republican congressional leader Kevin McCarthy vowed, “That’s why I will never give up. We can reverse this trend.”
Patriotism divides the nation
The poll also shows how changing values are dividing America. Today, Democrats and Republicans value and understand “patriotism” very differently. Only 23% of leftists consider love of country very important, as opposed to 59% of conservatives. However, since for many Republicans today only those who bear arms, fear God and consider abortion to be murder are patriots, the term has increasingly negative connotations for Democrats. For example, former pastor Janet Boyer told the Wall Street Journal, “To me, patriotism has devolved into right-wing nationalism.”

The question of ignorance of God has ceased to be a topic only addressed at the parochial, scholarly or academic level. It is in the forefront like no other concern and has, as never before, a growing presence in the media. There are many, many signs of a certain ‘search for paradise lost’: for example, the success of movies about God (Mel Gibson and others), or the unexpected and extraordinary following of Jordan Peterson, who never ceases to insist on the importance of personal effort and having a high purpose in life, in the thousands of videos on Youtube etc. He insists that religion is essential in personal and social life.
The historical spectacle of this question is almost comical: for four centuries an important part of thinkers had supported philosophical rationalism closed to God, thus inducing secularism. Thus, in Western Christian culture, they tried to keep God in the sacristy and in the interior of man. Dazzled by the sciences, the rationalists thought that it was necessary to overcome faith in order to free oneself and live without the ties of the commandments. And now it turns out that, especially in the richest countries, they are sinking humanly, ultimately due to ignorance about God: for example, in the USA last year one hundred thousand young people died from phenatylo and traq, not to mention the thousands and thousands who die from other drugs, or who are socially and economically a burden, as well as so many psychopaths, whether or not they are treated in psychiatric clinics.
The problem is so acute that among scientists in this field it is predicted that society will have serious problems in the future: on the one hand, the demographic renewal is cut by abortion pills and abortion, and on the other hand, in the case of children who have had the misfortune to be born in any way, falls on them the great problem of abuse of their parents (divorce, lack of interest and love for children etc.). These people are then the most likely to fall into all kinds of problems, depending on their age, which is a huge social burden.
All these problems exist analogously all over the world, with the differences imposed by the specific circumstances of the birth. For decades, in China, the state allowed only one child, so that today there are too many old people and demographic regeneration is collapsing. In Japan, Germany and many other affluent countries, a significant part of the population does not want to have children, which is the main cause of bitter loneliness in vast sectors of the elderly. Putting careers or the pleasures of life before having children, as a rule, takes a heavy toll on many aspects of personal life. One of them is the awakening of the desire for motherhood in women in their forties and fifties, which leads them to pay for any kind of medical technology in order to become pregnant, with or without a husband or partner.
Conclusion
Ignorance about God always disintegrates society. The big question is whether man alone is able to return to God and thus fix the problem. The answer is yes, because God himself is the first concerned, although he always respects human freedom, even when it is used for self-destruction. Here the importance of the Church emerges with force, for it is the Church whose teachings have made possible the greatness of the Judeo-Christian West, which will shine again in the future as never before. It is more than clear that it is not possible to conceive of the state ignoring God, and for this it does not have to be confessional, but it is enough that it respects the Church and Christians. Otherwise everything collapses, in the style of communism, nazism and the current style of globalism, which engendered the ideologies of WOKE, Lgtb, genderism and promotes a great persecution of traditional values.
